GRAND OPENING OF THE INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL UNITING YOUTH OF KAZAKHSTAN AND SOUTH KOREA

The grand opening of the summer school was held at Taraz University named after M.KhDulaty within the framework of the international "52nd WFK PAS Youth Volunteers Program." The project is implemented with the support of the Pacific Asia Society (PAS), an international organization.

The main goal of the summer school is to deepen cultural ties between Kazakhstan and South Korea, encourage language learning, and strengthen friendship and mutual understanding among the youth. As part of the 52nd volunteer mission, 21 young volunteers from South Korea arrived in Kazakhstan. They will actively participate in educational and cultural activities alongside Kazakhstani students.

The summer school will offer classes in the following areas:

  • Korean language and culture,
  • Kazakh language and culture,
  • Russian langua ge.

In addition to classes, various extracurricular activities and cultural tours to the cities of Taraz and Almaty will be organized, allowing Korean volunteers to get closer acquainted with the traditions, history, and modern life of the Kazakh people.

The PAS organization was founded in July 1994 and officially registered with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea. Since 1997, with the support of the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education, KOICA, and national universities, PAS has sent 10,743 young volunteers to countries in Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and Africa.

This cultural and educational project, organized with the support of the WFK PAS Youth Association, serves as a bright example of fostering mutual cooperation between the two countries. It provides an opportunity to develop global thinking, intercultural understanding, and respect among the youth.
