The Faculty of Economics and Law was created on the basis of the merger of the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Economics and Business in accordance with the order “On optimizing the structure of institutes/faculties and departments” of M.H. Taraz Regional University named after Dulati CJSC October 26, 2020-2021 school year. The faculty includes 6 departments that train specialists.

Today, the teaching staff of the Faculty of Economics and Law consists of 124 teachers, including 1 Doctor of Science, 36 Candidates of Science, 12 PhD Doctors, 5 Doctors of Science (DBA), 100 percent of the teaching staff have a Master of Science degree . The average age of teachers is 42 years. In addition, the faculty employs part-time employer specialists who previously worked in industry, public service, finance, and law enforcement. Teachers of the Faculty of Law are members of the Union of Lawyers of Kazakhstan and the Chamber of Legal Consultants.

The goal of the Faculty of Economics and Law is to provide the region with competitive students in accordance with modern requirements in the field of legal and economic education and to achieve high results in the national ranking in the field of education, as well as to educate individuals on the basis of spiritual and moral values, historical and national traditions; participate in the training of qualified personnel capable of meeting modern requirements, legal scientific research, the creation of a system of legal regulation of the digital economy, the use of digital technologies, the training of specialists needed in the region, taking into account the opinions and in agreement with employers. Organize the updating of the actualization of at least 20 educational programs in the register of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, taking into account the requirements of the professional standards of the State Educational Standard for 2022. Increase the indicator indicators of the Strategic Development Program for 2021-2025 approved by the faculty, showing maximum activity.

The faculty has 22 educational programs in 6 departments that train specialists. Of these, 12 are bachelors, 10 are masters.

Various new modern electronic tools, programs and resources are used to develop a comprehensive university information system for the purpose of automating educational processes and university management. Users of university portals are provided with 100% access to national and international databases, syllabuses, etc., including educational resources and technologies.

Faculty teaching staff annually improve their qualifications in leading foreign and republican universities and centers.

Currently, in order to establish effective and productive relationships with employers, the faculty is working to improve the dual education system. Branches of the department operate in institutions and organizations where scientific research and professional practice of students take place.

Academic mobility

In order to improve the level of education and develop academic mobility, students of the faculty undergo internships abroad:

- in higher educational institutions of the state and neighboring states;

- in Turkey, Kastamonu University;

- in Spain, at the University of Huelva;

- and also improve their education by undergoing a foreign research internship at the Rzeszow University of Technology in Poland, the University of Economics in Katowice. In addition, from among the teaching staff in the 2021-2022 academic year under the Presidential program “Bolashak”, 2 teachers Shaldarbekov K.B. (Hungary) and Alibekova V.N. (Moscow) completed an internship.

The university has an effective educational and scientific infrastructure that meets the requirements. Equipping the faculty with modern equipment and improving the material and technical base (repair of buildings and premises) is carried out by the university regularly.

The faculty is equipped with educational materials necessary for the entire educational process for the preparation of educational programs. The faculty has 9 computer classes, 16 modern interactive whiteboards, 2 special classrooms and 2 electronic training halls, a forensic laboratory where students of the faculty conduct practical classes. In the forensic laboratory, students with the help of special technical means acquire skills in using methods of search, registration and obtaining traces and physical materials; to use tactical techniques in the production of individual investigative actions; to master the methodology of distinguishing crimes by different ways of committing them; is able to determine the circumstances contributing to the commission of a crime, investigate crimes, plan and implement measures to prevent and prevent crimes.

"Courtroom": the faculty has created a specialized "Courtroom" for students studying in the direction of "Law". The "Courtroom" has all the possibilities for conducting trials in civil, administrative and criminal cases in a realistic, practical environment. As a result of joint cooperation, visiting court sessions of the Zhambyl regional and Taraz city courts are held in the specified courtroom.

 Specialized offices "Mini-Bank" and 1C:Accounting: The faculty includes a specialized production center "Mini-bank" for students studying economics, and special classrooms equipped with the program "1C:Accounting". In these classrooms, students are provided with all opportunities to fully familiarize themselves with the main work of banking and the circumstances of the accounting sphere. As a result of joint cooperation, agreements were concluded with second-tier banks and enterprises of Zhambyl region and Taraz city.

For students studying law, there is an office "Normative legal acts", equipped with a database "Law". The search database "Law" allows students to learn how to find simple ways to use common regulatory legal acts using various definitions.

Tleubaeva S.T., Doctor of Economics, associate professor Moldabekova A.Sh. participated in the republican contest "100 best specialists of the Republic of Kazakhstan – 2022" in the direction of "Education" and was awarded a diploma of 1 degree.

Faculty members of the Faculty of Economics and Law participate in international and national conferences and have published 383 articles, including the number of scientific articles in journals with a high impact factor according to Thomson Reuters and Scopus - 19, according to RSCI and with a non–zero impact factor, the number of scientific papers published in journals - 6, in journals recommended by the Committee for Control in the Field of Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 14 articles were published, 115 articles were published in republican journals, and 146 articles were published in the materials of scientific conferences.

The faculty consists of 7 student scientific circles: "Manager", "Civilist", "Accountant and financier", "Zheti Jargy", "Justice", "Logos", "Business Analytics". The main goal of the student scientific circle is to open up opportunities for students and schoolchildren to engage in scientific research. It is expected that students will engage in scientific and theoretical research, participate in scientific and practical conferences of various levels, and publish articles in publications. In this regard, student scientific circles hold small conferences, round tables, scientific seminars, opinion contests among schoolchildren and college students of the Zhambyl region and the city of Taraz.

As a result, more than 15 faculty members are studying in the far and near abroad, as well as in the doctoral program of our domestic universities.

Similarly, thanks to international communication, in the academic year 2022-2023, Professor Sefa Cetin from Maltepe University and Professor Kutai Oktay from Kastamonu University from the Turkish state gave lectures to students and teachers.

The educational and methodological bureau operates as a separate structure that controls the organization and quality of educational methodological work of the faculty. The plan of educational and methodological work of the faculty is carried out within the framework of approved activities. The educational and methodological work of the Faculty of «Economics and Law»  is carried out in accordance with the mandatory requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for higher educational institutions.

At the departments of the faculty, guidelines have been developed for writing course, diploma and master's theses. In order to coordinate the educational and methodological work of the departments, methodical seminars are held.

In addition, the scientific and methodological bureau of the faculty discusses issues of methodological support of the educational process in the disciplines of departments, the provision of distance learning processes with educational and methodological complexes.

The educational and methodological bureau of the faculty considers issues related to textbooks, teaching aids, monographs and electronic resources, the level of provision of the educational process with modern educational and scientific literature, working curricula (programs), planning of educational and methodological complexes.

The teaching staff of the faculty organizes educational and methodological activities in accordance with the requirements of the higher education system, and its scientific and pedagogical potential allows it to train bachelors and masters.

The learning process and its quality are controlled in the form of joint participation of teachers in open classes. From year to year, new modern pedagogical technologies and teaching methods are being introduced into the educational process. The professors and teachers of the department widely use methods such as round tables, small groups, and discussions. The department conducts systematic work in the field of enhancing the cognitive activity of students with the introduction of new technologies and electronic textbooks and new teaching methods. All textbooks for the specialty are developed in Kazakh and Russian languages, and for multilingual groups - in English.

In the 2021-2022 academic year, 82 academic groups of students studied at the full-time department of the Faculty of Economics and Law. Educational work in these groups is carried out by the Board of Curators of the faculty, the senior curator of the faculty, senior curators of the department and 63 curators.

The main tasks of educational work are: monitoring the personal development of students, creating conditions for their free development and disclosure of creative abilities, studying the enthusiasm and abilities of students, providing methodological assistance to preserve their freedom and rights, demanding strict compliance with the policy of academic integrity, organizing the educational process, familiarization with the living conditions of students, establishing contact with parents, education of moral qualities.

The faculty's Curatorial Council works regularly and develops its work in connection with events held during the academic year. Makhanov Timur Jarasuly, senior lecturer of the Department of Economics, was appointed senior curator of the Faculty. Monthly meetings of the Board of Curators of the faculty are held, where issues related to ways to improve the effectiveness of educational work are discussed. In order to popularize the work of curators, open curatorial hours are held and experience exchange events are organized.

Students of the faculty are active at the republican, regional, city, university and university levels, in creative centers, as part of the "Committee for Youth Affairs" and actively participate in competitions, returning with prizes and being awarded.

The faculty has a "Student Dean's Office", "Student Parliament", a youth club "Themis".

The faculty's educational complex houses the Center for Inclusive Education, whose main task is to ensure accessibility of education for all students, taking into account special educational needs and various types of individual opportunities.

The main goal of inclusive education is to create conditions for providing inclusive education to students with disabilities in higher education programs.
