Meeting Between Dulaty University Students and Employees of TarazKozhObuv LLP

On November 28, 2024, the Corporate Client Relations Department of Dulaty University, in collaboration with the Department of "Textiles, Material Science, and Standardization," organized a meeting for students, master’s, and doctoral candidates of the educational programs 6B07222 – Innovative Leather Product Technologies and 6B07511 – Standardization and Quality Management in Industry with the leadership and staff of TarazKozhObuv LLP.

The meeting was attended by members of the Corporate Client Relations Department, faculty of the "Textiles, Material Science, and Standardization" department, including B. Abzalbekuly, A. Onlabekova, L. Yusupova, as well as students, master's, and doctoral candidates.

Objectives of the Meeting

The primary goal of the event was to establish direct communication between students and potential employers, providing information about available job opportunities and prospects for employment.

TarazKozhObuv LLP is a rapidly developing enterprise. Established in 2002 on the foundation of the production complex of JambylBylgaryEtik JSC (founded in 1961), the company is one of the largest leather and footwear manufacturers in the former Soviet Union.

Indira Shevketovna Kuznetsova, the laboratory manager of TarazKozhObuv, highlighted key facts about the company:

  • The enterprise occupies a production area of 15,000 sq. m on a total land area of 1.123 hectares.
  • It includes workshops for specialized and model footwear, central repair facilities, a carpentry workshop, a laboratory, and material and finished product warehouses.
  • The company has its own raw material base, enabling full quality control throughout the production process.

The product line includes a wide range of specialized footwear, footwear for law enforcement and military personnel, and everyday footwear.

Production Capabilities

The production facilities are equipped with high-performance machinery from Russia, Austria, Germany, Italy, China, and the former Czechoslovakia.

  • In 2009, two automated devices by Desma were introduced for injection-molded sole production.
  • Since 2016, the company has expanded its offerings to include model footwear designed for law enforcement.

Nurlan Aksakalov, a technologist at the enterprise, explained that the production process covers all stages, including cutting, sewing, and injection molding, supported by central repair facilities and finished goods warehouses.

Clients and Output

The company's clientele includes Kazakhstan's law enforcement agencies, as well as industrial giants like ERG, KAZMinerals, and KarMet. These partners require high-quality specialized footwear for industries such as mining and metallurgy. Currently, the company produces over 500,000 pairs of footwear annually, including more than 70 models of everyday shoes.

Social Responsibility and Career Opportunities

TarazKozhObuv actively supports vulnerable social groups through direct contracts with local suppliers as part of a project aimed at job creation. This has resulted in high demand for young professionals at the enterprise.

During the meeting, students explored available vacancies and expressed a strong interest in pursuing careers at the company in the future.
